Energy Distributors

[ pagina afdrukken ]

The energy market is open, so if you wish, you can change to another distributor. However, it does have certain consequences. Read this info so that you can equip yourself to make a good choice.

Contract via SSH

SSH has a contract with Eneco to deliver gas and electricity to all the larger complexes and many city-centre buildings ('Stadspanden'). A number of the occupants in these complexes and buildings pay for their energy consumption via the service costs. Others get their energy bills directly from, and pay them directly to Eneco.

We don't have a contract with Eneco for all of our tenants. If in doubt about this, call Jan Sweerts via our general telephone number: (030) 25 25 725.

Advantages

  1. You don't have to pay transfer costs. If you are the contracting party and want to move, you have to pay transfer costs in order to put the contract in the name of another occupant.
  2. Eneco calls in SSH in cases of non-payment, which rules out the possibility of the electricity being cut off for an entire floor.
  3. You are not personally liable. If you and your fellow housemates have a contract with an energy distributor, the occupant whose name is on the contract will be held personally liable.
  4. SSH has made profitable price agreements with Eneco, so if you want to switch to another distributor, you will lose this advantage.

For this reason, we would strongly advise you not to change to another distributor.

Switch?

We are not prepared to remain party to a new contract if you wish to switch, as we have come to good arrangements with Eneco that we do not have with other suppliers. Keep in mind that if you do choose for another supplier, you may have to deal with transfer costs, personal liability and being cut off due to non-payment. If you switch to another supplier and in the future are cut off for any reason whatever, the costs for being re-connected will be recovered from the tenants involved.
