Although it is not compulsory, there is a house prefect ('huisoudste') in many apartments and student hostels. This is useful, because the prefect acts as a contact person in matters concerning SSH. In addition he or she performs certain tasks in the house, such as keeping the books for the house's joint account and administration, organizing the evenings where prospective tenants can present themselves ('hospiteeravond') and making a cleaning schedule.

House prefect remuneration  

SSH compensate house prefects who represent at least three people. This remuneration is not only to cover expenses made, but also for the time involved in being house prefect.

The following amounts have been fixed for this purpose:

Addresses with 3 t/m 5 rooms	€ 11,34 per quarter
Addresses with 6 t/m 10 rooms	€ 24,96 per quarter
Addresses with 11 or more rooms	€ 38,57 per quarter

    

N.B. the Cambridgelaan and Warande complexes (Zeist) have no house prefect remuneration. In the past, the residents in these complexes decided to use the remuneration for other purposes. 

If your house receives no house prefect remuneration, or if you wish to inform us of any changes, you can do so by sending an e-mail to bewonerszaken@sshxl.nl.  

Please indicate the house in question and the name of the (new) house prefect, along with the relevant name and account number. We will pay the house prefect remuneration a few weeks after the end of each quarter of the year.

Please inform us about any changes as soon as you can!

Please note that we preserve the right to cancel the house prefect remuneration in the case of problems such as mismanagement or misconduct.
