A different room

If you want a different room, you can respond to any room on the "Currently Available" list both in City-Centre Buildings and the larger complexes. Keep in mind that for rooms in De Uithof  you need to be a student doing a PhD and either working as an assistant ('aio') or doing research('oio') at a University or College in the Utrecht Municipality. This also applies to City-Centre rooms that are eligible for rent allowance

What to do:

• Respond to accommodation on the Currently Available List.
• The next step is to "Present yourself" as a prospective new house-mate. When you have found a room, both you and your new unit will let us know. 
• Now you can discontinue the Rental Contract, giving one month's notice. This can be done on any day of the week.
• Contract costs are € 30,-
• You must not be in arrears with your rent.

Independent Accommodation

A section of our independent accommodation is allocated via WoningNet. Everyone with a WoningNet registration is entitled to respond.

Another section of our Independent Accommodation is on offer via this site. As a SSH tenant with an unlimited contract and an SSH registration number you are eligible to respond, so there are several possibilities for moving:

• If you are already renting an independent accommodation, you have priority since you are moving house within your own complex. 
• You are required to register with WoningNet, but the length of time you have been registered is unimportant.
• When you move from a room to an independent accommodation, you do not lose the time you have already built up with WoningNet.
• Moving from one independent accommodation to another independent one, does mean that you will lose the time you have built up. 
• In the process of being allocated an independent accommodation, your income is an important factor. If it is either too low or too high, you will not be allocated the independent accommodation. See here for the rent-income table:huur-inkomentabel
• Contract costs are  € 45,-.
