Rent must be paid in advance. This means that the rent has to be on our account before the first of every month. There are several ways to pay the rent. You can choose to lodge your monthly rent either by means of a giro form or  bank transfer, or you can come to our office every month to pay your rent electronically with a pincard.The easiest way to pay the rent is to do so automatically via Direct Debit.

Direct Debit
Direct Debit means that you can authorize SSH Utrecht to automatically take the rent
off your account. You don't have to do a thing, and your rent is always paid on time, even if you are on holidays. Naturally you can cancel it whenever you wish. Say you are not in agreement with what has been deducted from your account, you can simply ask your bank to have the sum reimbursed to your account. The rent is always deducted on the first working day of the month, so make sure you have enough on your account. Direct Debit can be arranged via an authorization form which you receive with the Rental Contract, and also via the on-line form. It is also possible for someone else to pay the rent for you. Again, this can be arranged via Direct Debit ( and of course also via a giro-form).

Rent in Arrears
If you do not pay the rent, we will send you a reminder asking you to pay the arrears. If you still do not pay, we will send you an exhortation to pay said arrears. If you ignore this, we will call in the services of a bailiff. The letter involved in doing so always incurs expenses known as the so called extra-legal costs that have to be made in order to be able to collect rent. If the bailiff receives no payment, he will start legal procedures involving a demand for dissolution of the Rental Contract, evacuation from the living-unit, with the proviso that the tenant pay all costs.  
  
Payment Settlement 
Contact us as soon as possible if your rent is in arrears, because you can make a cost-free settlement with us in order to pay off your debt. We can also give you information on where special debt-clearing assistance is available, such as at the 'Kredietbank'(Credit Bank) Utrecht, with whom we have an association. Your privacy will be guaranteed at all times. Of course we hope that it will never come to that. If you choose for Direct Debit, the chances of being in arrears will be considerably reduced.
