Advice and Information

Sub-letting rooms
If you are renting from SSH Utrecht, this is how to look for a subtenant. Certain conditions which apply when subletting are to be found under FAQ.

Submitting your Room

You can submit your room for subletting by using the 'Room-form'. Besides giving information about the room, you can also indicate the type of house-mate you are looking for. We will then send you confirmation and a synopsis of the registered details. If you wish you can submit the room for subletting by phone instead ( Mon. to Thurs. from 8.30 - 17.00 hrs; Friday 8.30 - 12.30 hrs.)

Standard Rental Contract

We will send you the two necessary standard Rental Contracts which you can use to clearly record the agreements made between tenant lessee(tenant) and lessor (landlord/landlady).One copy is for the lessee, the other for the lessor. Using the contract will prevent misunderstandings in the future concerning agreements that were made.

Candidate Responses

Each working day, all available rooms will be shown on this site. Your address and telephone number will be given to a maximum of four candidates, who will then phone you to make an appointment. If there are no suitable candidates amongst them, the room will once more be entered on the website.

Present Yourself as a Candidate

Organizing a Present Yourself evening ? Let us know the date planned for this when you submit your room for subletting and we will include it with the details of the room. The candidates will ring to make an appointment. If you want more than four candidates, let us know and we will give your address a maximum of ten candidates.

Found a House-mate?

We will ring you on the following working day to inquire whether the room has been let. If so, your details will be removed from the list. If not, we will put your room up for rent again. If you have found a tenant, you may of course contact us yourself, if you wish .
